Educational goal is: 

  • to name colors of everyday objects;
  • to sort out pictures or objects according to their colors
  • to classify different objects according to their colors.

Vocabulary:  red, blue, yellow, green

Sentence pattern:   It is red.

Equipment: paper, scissors, glue

How to play:  Copy out handouts 3.1., 3.2., 3.3, 3.4, which are the ice-cream samples. Cut out the cones and ice-creams on handout 3.1. and 3.2. and give them to children. Cut out the ice-creams on the handout 3.3. Ask them to choose one ice-cream from the handout 3.3. and to prepare an ice-cream of the color.

You can play this game in different ways, if you have colored small balls, you can use them as ice-creams. Below we provide some more examples.

Learning outcome: At the end of the game, children will be able to match objects according to their colors
