Goodbye

  • This is a guessing card game played with two different sets of cards (character cards and question cards (Handout 2.1). Kids read a description, try to guess the character, then say the goodbye phrase. This game can be played individually, in pairs or small teams. (The Teacher helps to remember the names)

  • Print out character and game (question) cards. If you want, you can stick the printout onto the heavy paper. Laminate for future use.

  • Cut out the individual cards, fold them and glue

  • Put game cards in a pile face up (answer side down).

  • To begin, take the first card from the pile and read the task aloud. For example, Bye for now. Say it to someone who is wearing a blue dress.
  • If a member of either team thinks they can answer, they raise their hand and must give their answer immediately. For example, Bye for now, Lemonia!
  • If it is correct, their team earns a point. If it is not correct, the other team has thirty seconds in which to try to answer. If they answer correctly, they earn a point.
  • Continue with the rest of the task cards. The team with the most points wins.
